The revival of interest in vinyl music has hit the team of SODA Shades.
The Vinyl Countdown is a series where we want to share our love for music and get to showcase albums of many genres ~ chosen and reviewed by our team. It’s a place to be creative. It’s a place we can experiment and most importantly it’s a place we can all have fun.
We want to introduce you to Ethan Miller ~ 2/3 members of the team that will be running you through all their favourite vinyls.

What were your first impressions, did anything stand out to you?
The bright pink Vinyl with the paper Tyler’s face cut out front and centre kind of sets the tone for the whole Vinyl. It’s bright and raw both sonically and lyrically.
Who do you think chose this album for you and why?
What song got you most excited and why?
It’s so hard to pick one track, as they all are so unique, but at the same time blend together as one big story. If I had to pick, I’d say track 7, Magic Wand. It’s got this crazy switch up about ¾ of the way through that really gets the blood pumping.
What is the perfect setting to listen to this album?
There’s an energy about this album, I love pumping it out loud when I’m in design mode and want to be creative.
Who would you recommend this to?
What does this record remind you of?
As I touched on above, there’s an underlying tone of Kanye’s older work. He does feature on the track Puppet, but at the same time it doesn’t remind me of anything at all. I feel like the sounds in this album are truly unique to Tyler alone.
What price was the Vinyl? Do you think it’s good value?
I’ve searched the inter-webs and found it for $40-$45 and would highly recommend adding this one to your rotation.
